VISUAL SPAMS

…just me bashing a couple of things I find stupid.

Today’s local visual medium seems to be going downhill, with all the silly television shows and movies, which all seems to be done in half hazard ways. TV drama shows now all follow a single plot line, just change the so called actors and actresses, and you’ve got a new show, which is just sad, because obviously we don’t have budgets to go all out on technical aspects – gadgets, props, visual effects – so we could have made up for it on storyline and talent, yet no, and what’s worse is people watch this shows, or don’t have any other choice to watch but this shows, scripts are bad and sometimes it seems to have been written a couple of hours before tapings, writing the plot depending on how good the show is, choosing to extend or shorten the series base on this. Even most of the young actors and actresses nowadays aren’t that good either, look at the local movies being made; mostly love stories which require “casual acting”, and even worse other movie characters are molded depending on the actor, rather than the actor molding into the character. But luckily good movies would come out every now and then, but you’ll notice that the stars on these movies are veteran actors who have talents, the one who are really good.

This are the ones that are on mainstream, mostly only created for fame and money, which deprive us the chances to do critical thinking, fortunately we have Indie films, even though most of them have themes that are too deep for some people to take in – even for me, sometimes I even find myself dumbfounded, like “what the hell just happened” after watching – this movies could show that we could do good things with less. There are also good television shows, documentaries, informative shows, but sadly are brushed aside for such stupid, money raking shows, being set on timeslot that is either too early in the morning or to late in the evening.

Of course television isn’t everything, I even have a whole year without watching television, and when I tune in I was happy to find out that I don’t really miss out on important things that’s been happening. Enjoy.
