There is nothing really wrong about this, but we tend to overuse such features, not contented with share, we use this feature like a poke, tagging everyone on useless photos we find on the net. This is not Tumblr FCOL.
Profile themes
Using profile theme changing applications. It doesn't really work, (well to some extend, it does) because in order for other users to see your modified profile, one has to use the same application too, which mean your profile will only look like the same default Facebook page if they don't.
Facebook Tracker
Same with profile theme apps, this will only work if the one viewing your profile also uses the same application. It's like trackers on mobile phones, you won't be able to track a phone location unless the user approved, and I believe Facebook already said that they will never allow applications that will track user activities.
Gazillion other useless apps
I admit I'm a little bit of a neat freak, I hate clutters so I really don't get whats with this applications that allow you to post useless stuff on your's and your friends wall. One word - SPAMS.
